After what will be 67 years of output, Land Rover will end production of the Defender SUV in December 2015.

According to Motor Annex, the reason for the cease in production is due to emission compliance that is difficult to meet in some worldwide markets.

But no worries for all the iconic 4x4 lovers out there, because word on the street is that Land Rover is already working on the Defender’s successor.

The Land Rover Defender has been featured in several films, including the latest James Bond flick and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.
