Jaguar Land Rover North America has announced three recalls for Range Rover (brake hose rupture, brake vacuum hose), Range Rover Sport (brake vacuum hose) and Jaguar XK models (parking lamps).

Which Jaguar models are affected by the recalls?

Range Rover Recall for brake hose rupture: Model year 2006-2012, manufactured between April 15, 2005 and September 4, 2012.

Range Rover Recall for brake vacuum hose: Model year 2013-2014, manufactured between August 16, 2012 and January 8, 2014.

Range Rover Sport Recall for brake vacuum hose: Model year 2014, manufactured between May 7, 2013 and January 8, 2014.

Jaguar XK Recall for parking lamp: Model year 2012-2015, manufactured between March 4, 2011 and March 20, 2014.

What causes the brake and side parking lamp problems

For the first brake problem, the brake hose could rupture and leak brake fluid, which would decrease braking ability.

For the second brake problem, the brake vacuum hose may have been incorrectly routed, which could wear down the hose and disable the power assist.

For the Jaguar XK parking lamp problem, the side parking lamps may shut off after 5 minutes of use.

Are there any known accidents attributed to the defect?

At this time, no known accidents have been reported by Jaguar Land Rover attributing to either of the defects.

What do I do if my car is one of those affected?

Jaguar Land Rover will be notifying all owners affected by the three recalls starting March 13, 2015. For the brake hose rupture, the left and right front brake hoses will be replaced. The brake vacuum hose will be inspected and correctly routed, or replaced if damaged, for the 2nd recall. The software for the Jaguar parking lamp problem will be updated. All of these recalls will be corrected free of charge.
