In Part 1 and Part 2 we covered how to keep your A/C running smoothly in your Land Rover and signs to be aware of for A/C problems, so closing out the series it’s only we present what you can do to help keep your Land Rover cool in summer.
A few tips are compiled below:
Use A/C Wisely: Don’t run the A/C at the highest level or for a long period of time. Moderation is best to prevent overworking the system.
Park in the Shade: Whenever possible, park your car in the shade. This can significantly reduce the internal temperature of your car.
Cool Down the Car Before Driving: Open all the doors before getting in to your Land Rover to let the hot air escape. Put the windows down for the first few minutes of driving to help any hot air to escape.
A/C Recirculation: When using the A/C, set it to recirculate to cool the air inside the car more effectively, rather than pulling in hot air from outside.
Use Sunshades and Window Visors: If you are parking outside, use a sunshade or window visor on your windshield to block direct sunlight.
Cover Your Seats and Steering Wheel: To help prevent seats and the steering wheel from getting too hot, use seat covers and a steering wheel cover. Aim for light-colored covers over dark colors.
Regular A/C Maintenance: Most importantly…have your A/C regularly maintained by an expert Land Rover mechanic who will check out everything to ensure proper A/C functionality!
