OEM, aftermarket, remanufactured, rebuilt or used?

There are several different types of parts to choose from when your Land Rover needs a parts repair. Here is a quick definition of each of the available options that you most likely can choose from.
Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or Factory New Parts: These type of parts are directly made by the car manufacturer and match the parts that came with your car. Typically, they come with a warranty.
Aftermarket Parts: A company other than your car manufacturer makes these parts. They are made in a high-volume environment and fit several different types of cars, not just one.
Remanufactured Parts: These parts have been fully manufactured to the standard of a new part. They are also inspected and checked against the original specifications.
Rebuilt Parts: Described mostly as reconditioned parts that are cleaned, inspected and with replaced components if worn or broken.
Used Parts: Found mostly at salvage yards or from other vehicles. Typically, they are not covered by a warranty.
